Flawless Sensor Mouse List – The perfect mouse

A flawless sensor mouse is some of these things that I always thought I had, but never knew I didn’t. When we buy some of these extremely expensive gaming mice we expect them to be the best engineered devices available. Sadly this is not the case, and a flawless sensor mouse (or superior sensor, sometimes perfect sensor) is actually quite rare. Lots of gaming mice sensors are equipped with certain algorithms and try to predict our movement. Most of us competitive gamers don’t want that. In competitive gaming we want our mice to produce our exact movements on the screen. We want to be as close to the metal as possible.

Most people aren’t even aware that a mouse sensor could have flaws or that flawless mouse sensors are even available. It certainly might even be debatable what a flawless sensor actually is. So we want to get this straight:

What’s a flawless sensor mouse? What’s a superior sensor or perfect sensor mouse?

All these words are interchangeable and mean one thing: We want a mouse sensor that doesn’t interfere in what we are doing. When we talk about a flawless sensor mouse we mean that there is little to no prediction algorithms, no mouse acceleration, no jitter, and no axis differences. All of these things were regularly included in some mice to make the use of these mice more comfortable and predictable.

While most mice currently available still have some flaws, we consider these mice sensors to be the cream of the crop or ‘flawless’. All these issues mentioned before should be absent to be considered a flawless sensor mouse. This is mostly the case for optical mice, laser mice regularly have a variety of other issues associated with them. Laser mice for example can be ‘too’ sensitive and produce irregular outputs.

Basically all of the mice are used by professional gamers. We gathered them from our CS:GO Setups and Overwatch Setups. You really can’t go wrong with any of these. But if you want to make sure they fit your hand, have a look at our size comparisons as well. The most important thing we can recommend though is to try them out in person.

Additionally, for left-handed people choosing a mouse can be difficult as well. That is why we have provided information on whether they are ambidextrous or not.

Please feel free to have a look at the list. We would very much appreciate any corrections. Please make a comment if we got anything wrong. Thank you.

According to the list, g400s (logitech) is flawless, but i feel that it has some input lag, and i’m not the only one i think.

    • Max says:

This list is about the sensors of the mice. We only state that the sensor of the g400s is flawless. The input lag you might feel has almost certainly nothing to do with the sensor. Hope this helps! πŸ™‚

Hi Max Hope you are doing fine based on your list I have bought Asus Gladius is it a nice mouse and being on top of the list does it mean it is the best out of all other’s on list secondly the polling rate of 2000hz how can it help in fps games please explain when you get time.

    • Max says:

The list is not a ranking so the place of the mouse in the list does not matter. Mouse HZ is just how often the mouse reports its position to the computer. The higher, the better if it can consistently handle the 2000 HZ.

Hey Max, I’m looking for a flawless mouse as close to the Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical as possible in terms of size, shape and buttons… I just love the side button that my thumb rests over and just requires a gentle squeeze without changing my grip… any recommendations? (I currently have the Logitech G9X and it has no rounded support especially in the back so it doesn’t fit my hand as well, I hate the travel and position on the thumb buttons since I have to change my grip and worst of all I can’t track for crap on it! For some reason it skyrocketed in price after being discontinued so I’m thinking of selling it used and replacing it.) Thanks for putting this awesome list together! One more question, where is the best place to go to try out these mice in person?

Also what I need is something with good thumb support (if possible including rubber lining, because gravity) as well as easy, quick access to the buttons in that area, and as for the shape and weight, as close as possible to Logitech G502, saving the edgy details which are unimportant.
    Any suggestion?

  40. Petes says:

Have you tried the Cougar Minos X5? it’s a 2khz polling rate mouse. This list is great maybe you can add how ergonomic they are, for example I hate “ergonomic” mice because the right finger is usually lower and that means that the ring finger is even lower, so some mice have a piece of plastic for the ring finger, but then they forget about the little finger that ends so low that it’s forced to touch the mousepad and it also gets constantly pinched by the piece of plastic for the ring finger. So maybe you can use something like that to give them an ergonomics score.

    • Max says:

I think that an ergonomics score sounds interesting but that topic is way too subjective. The sensor (Pixart PMW3360) of the Cougar Minos X5 is flawless. πŸ™‚

Thank you! Yes I can see it can be very subjective, one last suggestion is if the mouse generates heat, this can be really annoying if it makes your hand sweat. Anyways thank you again, I’ll keep searching for a mouse πŸ™‚

Hi Max, I’m thinking of getting the Corsair Harpoon which uses PMW3320 sensor. Is it flawless?

    • Max says:

The Corsair Harpoon is a really good mouse due to the low price point. However, the sensor spins out on certain speeds. If I were you I would go for a mouse with a 3360 sensor. (Zowie EC2-B / SteelSeries Rival 310 for example) πŸ™‚

Could you also add price of the mice to the list? Would be a great addition to help people choose which mouse to pick based on the price if anyone has a certain budget.
I am currently looking for a cheap but great gaming mouse mainly for FPS. Any suggestions?

Hi Max, what about the new ZOWIE EC2-B? Besides, do you know any big differences between the EC-A and EC-B?

Hi thanks for the list , is the qpad dx20 sensor flawless? It has the 3320 I think

  50. Darkthus says:

Hi, my current mouse (Logitech G203 Prodigy) broke, as it double clicks 50% of the time. I am on a budget right now, and I want to ask: should I just rebuy this mouse or buy a Razer DeathAdder 2013? Or should I buy something else that is around the price of these mice?
