Flawless Sensor Mouse List – The perfect mouse

A flawless sensor mouse is some of these things that I always thought I had, but never knew I didn’t. When we buy some of these extremely expensive gaming mice we expect them to be the best engineered devices available. Sadly this is not the case, and a flawless sensor mouse (or superior sensor, sometimes perfect sensor) is actually quite rare. Lots of gaming mice sensors are equipped with certain algorithms and try to predict our movement. Most of us competitive gamers don’t want that. In competitive gaming we want our mice to produce our exact movements on the screen. We want to be as close to the metal as possible.

Most people aren’t even aware that a mouse sensor could have flaws or that flawless mouse sensors are even available. It certainly might even be debatable what a flawless sensor actually is. So we want to get this straight:

What’s a flawless sensor mouse? What’s a superior sensor or perfect sensor mouse?

All these words are interchangeable and mean one thing: We want a mouse sensor that doesn’t interfere in what we are doing. When we talk about a flawless sensor mouse we mean that there is little to no prediction algorithms, no mouse acceleration, no jitter, and no axis differences. All of these things were regularly included in some mice to make the use of these mice more comfortable and predictable.

While most mice currently available still have some flaws, we consider these mice sensors to be the cream of the crop or ‘flawless’. All these issues mentioned before should be absent to be considered a flawless sensor mouse. This is mostly the case for optical mice, laser mice regularly have a variety of other issues associated with them. Laser mice for example can be ‘too’ sensitive and produce irregular outputs.

Basically all of the mice are used by professional gamers. We gathered them from our CS:GO Setups and Overwatch Setups. You really can’t go wrong with any of these. But if you want to make sure they fit your hand, have a look at our size comparisons as well. The most important thing we can recommend though is to try them out in person.

Additionally, for left-handed people choosing a mouse can be difficult as well. That is why we have provided information on whether they are ambidextrous or not.

Please feel free to have a look at the list. We would very much appreciate any corrections. Please make a comment if we got anything wrong. Thank you.

Does Redragon Tiger M709 have good sensor? I checked mouse specs, it appear to have 5000 DPI sensor, so it’s either 3325 or 3310. I found only one place on web mentioning it’s sernsor model – official Brazilian Redragon site, that says it has 3325 sensor.

    • Max says:

The 3325 is in the flawless range of sensors. 🙂

      • latency fascist says:

can you please stop describing sensors as flawless? they’re not, and a 3090, 3310 or 3325 absolutely most certainly should not be listed as a great sensor compared to other sensors currently available.

        • Max says:

I don’t agree. In what world is the 3310 not flawless for example? The difference between the 3310 & 3360 for example is negligible.

          • latency fascist says:

it’s not negligible. anybody with a system optimized for low latency gameplay would be able to tell the difference immediately.

i play osu at a very high level and using a mouse with a 3310 results in noticeable input latency, mouse drift over the course of a map due to the frame smoothing and my input not being represented as well as with a 3360+.

the same goes for cs/ow/quake, though the drift is less of a big deal as there is not prolonged mouse movement when compared to osu.

          • Max says:

To the point where you would not call the 3310 flawless though? 3310 is still a very good choice.

Hi there, I think we need an update of this article, because there are a lot of new mouses and sensors on the market, so please do it…

  27. Nope says:

In what world is a collection of optical sensors that all have end-step-smoothing frames and an average of 5% surface-read path error rate considered “flawless”? Even the “best” pixart 3360+ sensors do not hit 99.9% accuracy on any surface test listed in their hardware spec datasheet (Source: https://www.pixart.com/_getfs.php?tb=product&id=10&fs=ck2_fs_en) and numerous tests have shown that they literally interpolate your last two inputs, for no other reason than useless, subjective, “consumer appeal”. You like “smoother” aim, despite the fact that, by definition, inter-frame averaging = less precise?

Sensor technology may keep improving now that there’s big money to be made in “pro-gaming-grade” garbage, but it certainly hasn’t improved the scientific rigor or the standards of the “pro gamer” market segment. What a joke.
